Main Stage Joins the Fight Against Childhood Brain Cancer

On Sunday, May 29, 2016, a crowd of over 700 energetic adults and children descended on the Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda, Maryland for the Defeat DIPG Superhero Sprint & 6K.

This was a first-time event organized by the Michael Mosier Defeat DIPG Foundation, created in 2015 after founders Mark and Jenny Mosier lost their six-year-old son, Michael, to the pediatric brain tumor called diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma, or DIPG.

The inspirational event featured a beautiful superhero wall filled with loving tributes to children who battled the disease, with inspiring messages of hope for the many children bravely fighting DIPG today. The event also featured a rock climbing wall, face painting and snow cones for the kids, as well as raffles and recognition for the runners with the fastest times.

Main Stage was proud to serve as a Silver Sponsor for the race, which drew supporters from all over the Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Virginia area, as well as individuals from other parts of the country. While the donations are still pouring in, Sunday’s event raised over $100,000 for research to help find a cure. To learn more about DIPG, visit
